40th Year Pomona High School Reunion - Class of 1977

Its only three years to our 40th High School Reunion. Like the old Boy Scout that I am - lets "Be Prepared"! We need each and every ones help. We have 324 classmates missing. I know from facebook that they are out there but I need you all you to help by emailing me at [email protected] classmates addresses, phone numbers, email addresses which will be keep confidential from public view. We need people that want to be on a committee for the next few years to plan. This should not be hard since we have so much time to plan ahead. It would be great to give every classmate a reunion date a year ahead so they can all plan to attend. Now, let me say that I don't want to be the Chair. I graduated from Cal Poly in 1981 with a BS in Business Administration and went to work for B of A as a Loan Officer. I did numerous jobs after that looking for my true calling.
In 1988 I started substitute teaching and loved teaching so got my credential from Cal Poly in Business in 1990. After being cut for being non-tenured from my first job, I went back to school for a credential in Special Education.
In 1995 I earned my Learning Handicap credential from UCR. I worked in Chino for several years as a RSP Math and English teacher. Wanting to teach at the high school level, I transferred to Fontana USD in 2000 where after a year I secured a job at Kaiser HS and have taught there ever since. I now look forward to retiring with full pension in 2022. In the meantime, in 2011 I earned my Masters in Administration from Concordia University in Irvine and am seeking a vice-principal position at the elementary or middle school level.
Personal:
I've heard more than once that I should write a book about my life, my trials and my tribulations I've come through to be an inspiration for others.
I was married the first time in 1982, a year after graduating with my BS. We were married for 12 short years. : ( Somewhere around year 10 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor and given 3-5 years to live. To this day that was the hardest thing I have ever had to deal with. Sadly we got divorced due to issues I believe were related to the brain tumor. The lengthy 5 year divorce which outlived him was the next hardest, emotional thing I had to deal with, besides raising 2 teenage girls on my own.
Sadly my last marriage of just under 5 years was abusive in every sense: emotional, verbal and physical. It started only 6 or so months into the marriage after at 3 year courtship where none of these signs were present.
I am now happily married to the love of my life and a great Christian man. We had a 3 year courtship and married in June of 2015 on the beautiful island of Grand Cayman with both my daughters Cassie and Katie present.
I spend most of my summers traveling to dive destinations at any of my timeshares I exchange to tropical places. In my free time I do things to improve my home I bought 3 years ago and manage my 3 rental properties. I love crunching numbers and have helped some people through my previous church with financial issues and also give advice/help when asked for from any one who asks. I love and enjoy playing the stock market and fully funding all avenues of retirement. I self-manage my portfolios and occasionally bounce ideas and/or ask for suggestions from my adviser.
