After graduating from USC with a BS and Harvard Business School with an MBA, I became CFO of six companies and now serve as Board Member of two companies. My CFO roles allowed me to travel extensively throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia to arrange financing and acquire companies to buy.
Grace Fujita and I were married at Montebello Plymouth Congregational Church after she received her California teaching credential. A few years after graduation we moved to the San Francisco Bay Area thinking we would return to Los Angeles in short order.
Fast forward 50 years. We have just completed expanding our family home in semi-rural Los Altos Hills. Our peaceful residence is slowly changing as Los Altos Hills has become the in place for Silicon Valley billionaires driving around in their Tesla's looking to live near the Sawka family. It seems we are a million miles away from Montebello, but everyone has been very welcoming to us no matter where we lived, worked and traveled.
I write the quarterly class notes for Harvard Business School so I can appreciate the Reunion Committee's hard work. Grace and I have also started to host local reunions at our home for the years between the five year reunions in Boston. We have entertained a varied assortment of classmates, famous and infamous, from Harvard and USC but none so far from Montebello.
