Today's Featured Biography
Walter Weberg
After high school, I bounced around several colleges and finally ended up as an engineer with the General Electric Company, Medical Imaging Division. While there, I specialized in Coronary Angiography for eight or nine years, and then joined the team that invented the CT scanner in the 70s. Once we started shipping the scanner, I traveled the United States teaching physicians, technicians, and engineers how to use and maintain the scanner. When GE started shipping the scanner outside of the United States I traveled around the world for a few years teaching and helping people use a CT scanner in 32 countries. I managed service operations for GE in northern California for a few years where our team made us the fastest growing operation in the United States.
I left GE and formed a company with a partner to produce computer protection equipment for CT scanners, which were subject to the vagaries of electrical anomalies which could damage the computers. After selling that company, myself and a friend formed a company selling and servicing medical equipment in Northern California.
Finally, after working in the medical imaging field for over 35 years, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and found new areas of interest. Today, I narrate books for the State of Arizona Braille and Talking Book Library, I occasionally do voiceovers for commercials, and I teach 20+ classes for the National Safety Council, including CPR and 1st Aid, Defensive Driving, Ticket Dismissal for the Arizona Supreme Court and the Instructor Class for the Arizona Motor Vehicle Divisionâ€;™;s Traffic Survival School. I was recently appointed by the Chief Justice of the State of Arizona Supreme Court to the Defensive Driving Board.
For me, work has always been rewarding and fun, and it remains my passion. Transferring information (teaching) energizes me and keeps my mind active and young. I still learn new things from every class I teach. In 2011 I went back to college to earn a degree as an EMT, and now teach First Responders, Professional Rescuers, and others who teach CPR and 1st Aid to other medical professionals.

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
