Today's Featured Biography
Brenda Ekstrand Ekstrand-Rauch
I have resided, in Surprise AZ, since 1999, with my husband of going on 9 years on 12-10-07. I have two beautiful daughters, Nicole Anne is 29, and Melissa Lynn is 24. Melissa, was married on Maui 9-18-06 to her beloved Joseph, and I was blessed to escort her down the beach, to give her away..I could not stop crying.. she looked so beautiful & happy.
I also have 2 step sons, Brandon (26) & Beau (22). I am also the proud Mi ma, of 2 beautiful & gifted grandmunchkins. Melee Anne (2000) and Benjamin is (2003).
In October of 2007, my daughter Melissa, her hubby Joe, my Bill & I (with the rest of our team) completed a 8 mile walk for Juvinille Diabetes, in Prescott AZ. Our next walk will be in 2008, in Flagstaff. Melissa, was diagnosed in 1991, at the young age of 9.
We also walk for Breast Cancer awareness, AIDS, Parkinsons,and Gay Pride (my stepson Brandon :).
I currently am employed as a Hospice Nurse Manager and enjoy the families and the patients I have come to care for, as they began the journey to cross over.
Our mom Barbara (class of 56) crossed over 12-18-07, after a courageous battle with Breast cancer, and 14 years of Parkinsons. Debbie (class of 76) resides in Apple Valley with her family, and Linda ( class of 83) resides in our former family home with her family. Brian (class of 81), crossed himself over 10-20-06, after years of substance abuse.
I return to Chino, to visit my family, every other month. I enjoy going up to Sedona & Flaggstaff, on our weekends off. Our pets keep us just as busy, 2 Labs, 1 cat and an African Grey Parrot with a vocabulary of 1100 words.
In a sense, my life turned out to be richer, with family and an awesome career, in which I am able to use my Hand & Heart. My family comes first (especially the munchkins) for they are my heart soul & every breath I take.
