Today's Featured Biography
Robyn Danenhauer Wike
WOW! How time flies by when you're havin a family and fun! I have been a teacher for 14 years. I taught in Gravette, AR for 7 years. I taught 1st, 4th, and 5th grades while there. We then moved home to Springdale where I taught 6th for 5 yrs. at JO Kelly Middle School as a reading teacher. While teaching at JOK I went back to college at Harding University where I obtained my Master's Degee in reading and my Literacy Specialist degree in Dec. 2005. After that chaotic summer with 6 weeks away from my family except, for 3 weekends when they came to see me, I transferred to Helen Tyson Middle School and have taught 7th remedial reading for the last 2 yrs. Right now, I'm currently on an extended leave of absence due to health problems including mico-plasm pneumonia, severe sinusitis, chronic bronchitis, and everything else that my kids brought home from school!!! Fun times at the Wike's house. I will be back to work by Fall of 07, so I'm finally on the mend! My husband Dennis built custom homes all over NW AR for 15 yrs., but now he's working at AERT in Springdale (Marty Reynolds and Mike Pounders work there in the business end of things, YES it is a small world!) Here's a condensed version of my life below:
I'm a happily married to Dennis Wike of "Gravette America" for 14 years! I have 3 awesome kids! Steph is 18 yrs. old (adopted from my husband's 1st marriage) so she's technically no longer a kid, but I love her and will always think of her as my kid no matter how old she gets. She is gorgeous just like her dad, BIG brown eyes. Alexis is 11 yrs. old and very smart and beautiful. She looks a lot like me withthe exception of brown eyes, but she's much more pretty than I ever was. Zane is my 9 yr. old son who is also very smart and very handsome and we're in big trouble when he gets old enough to date b/c he's gonna be a lady killer! He inherited my blue eyes, his dad's dimples, and blonde hair. All 3 of my kids and husband are gorgeous, smart, talented, and loved very much! I'm proud to call myself a Christian, wife, mom, friend, teacher, and lover of helping children and kids learn how to be successful readers.
I can't wait to see everyone in July! I need to make sure my hair is a BIG as it was while I was in high school...I've never let that go. Scary, huh? See ya soon!
