My Bio. hasn't changed much these past few years - - The basics are: after graduation I went to Harding ( in Searcy, Ark.) and my only goal at that time was to be in the a capella choir- - - which I achieved as a Freshman ( only four of us did this ) - But from Harding I went to New Mexico Western Univ. and married Don McCain in Silver city, N.M. - he was at our 10th reunion, I believe. But LIFE moved in, and we moved to California - REAL life happened and Don and I divorced and a while later I married Sid. He has been to a couple of our reunions, I think. I remember so well that he was there when Donald Shepard was there. . .Donald and I were talking and I noticed a little 'thing ' on his ear and asked if he would mind if my husband ( who is a physician) would look at it. Since I had been in Mary Kay (1970 -'til now ) I told him that that I noticed this little thing. Sid came over. . .said: " I can't really see a lot in this light, but you really should see a doctor when you get home" . Christmas came, I got a card from Donald that said: 'You may have saved my life - that thing was malignant - thank you so much ! '
Our kids ( Sid's two sons ) are really precious. Bruce, is a physician at Scripps in San Diego, CA. - - married and has twins - boy/girl 13 years old. The other son, Anthony - lives in Northern Calif. and he makes fancy furniture -- -hand made, sold only through shows and shops. He has one son - who is 10 years old this year. What a special position to be a step-mom to these two families who love me so much. Perhaps it's because I had a wonderful step-father who taught me how to love . Daddy -- the Daddy you knew. .. came to live with me and Sid in 2002 -- it was such a blessing from God to have him in our home and to be able to take care of him. He passed away in Oct. of 2006 . Another blessing that I had such a job with Mary Kay that would allow me the freedom and flexibility to care for him. While he lived here, I had my gall bladder removed ( actually cost me 90 minutes of real life !! - amazing but true !!) . . .had to have a torn tendon in my shoulder repaired and this was MOST disabling. .. but my ability to work was doing better about 2 weeks before he died - - allowing me to help him in many ways. ( feeding etc.) Then the house repair/etc. that happened. .. .new carpet, wallpaper, repairs etc. .. .
whooeee what a challenge. Then - a friend from Harding needed a place to stay in California as he looked for a job. .. and I said: " I have a place " - --
Remember - a few years ago -- Jackie Crain had a son who 'needed a place in California ' and I said: " He stays with me " Michael lived with us for a while and I was so blessed to have him here, safe and and in a good place. - - - Well -- I told Rick: " you have a place with me " . . . so we have Rick Timmerman living where Daddy lived ( and Mike ( Jack's son ) . It's been the best blessing you could imagine. Sid is 81 and not in good health - - so Rick has been our most important help. He is also a computer 'techy' yikes - don't know how to spell it. -- -anyway -- he has put ALL of my Mary Kay business on the computer. . .he has been so faithful to help Sid with every little thing in his life - and during my recent knee surgery, we could not have lived without his help. AND NO -- YOU CAN'T HAVE HIM !!!! My Senior Director , my Doctor, my friends at church are ' in line ' for someone like Rick !!! His picture will be on the website when I learn how to enter it.
The newest 'news' is that in June (2009) I broke my right arm - what an experience. Once again, my life would not have been the same without the help from Rick - He fixed a bed for me ( in our living room) and has watched over my every move. I can't sleep in our regular water-bed because of how I have to get in and out. Just a mess. Of course, broken bones will heal but in the meantime I can barely breathe !!
I'll update this as needed. Right now - things are doing fairly ok.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
