Well, let's see.
In 1988 while you guys were graduating, I was in the hospital with pneumonia, so I missed saying goodbye. I stuck around B'ham for a while, met my future wife Traci in 1990, and married her in 1991. Our daughter was born in 1991 as well.
I went into the U.S. Navy right after getting married, and after boot camp we moved to Charleston, S.C.
The Navy was very cool, except for being gone all the time. The ship's mission was usually drug ops, so I spent most of my time in the Caribbean, with various trips through the Panama Canal and to the Persian Gulf.
I was a cook in the Navy, which means I had no clearance, but access to any part of the ship, even stuff the C.O. wasn't cleared for. You'd be amazed at the doors a pan of hot cinnamon rolls will open.
Moved back to B'Ham in 1995 and waited tables at Superior Grill before it became a meat market.
Our son was born in 1996.
I started installing home security systems in B'ham in '97.
Traci decided she'd had enough of B'ham, so
we moved to Dallas TX. in 1998. She did so well at her job that the owner of the company she worked for moved us to Colorado Springs, CO in 1999.
I worked for ADT Security Services in Colorado. Me and one other guy handled service on all of the residential alarm systems in the southern half of Colorado, so basically my job was driving around Colorado and fixing stuff.
We decided to get closer to family in 2003, so we moved to Hiram, GA, and I started subcontracting out as an alarm installer.
I was still installing alarms until 2005, when I got hurt in a car wreck, and couldn't crawl around in attics anymore.
After the wreck, I couldn't use my right foot for four months, and I didn't work for a year.
In 2006 I decided I needed my own business, so knowing nothing about sales or advertising, I bought a Money Mailer franchise, which is basically advertising sales. It didn't take long to figure out I don't really care about sales or advertising, so now I'm trying to sell the business.
