My story is bigger than anything I could have imagined as we graduated in 1988 - and I had a good imagination. I went to Auburn to pursue a degree in chemical engineering which I completed in 1992. In 1990, I married my sweetheart, Melanie McCord, also attending Auburn. In 1992, our first daughter was born, Caroline.
After graduating college, I took a job at a paper mill in Demopolis (40 miles south of Tuscaloosa). Our first son, Jason was born in T-town. In 1996 I took a job at a chemical company with offices in Atlanta where I have been ever since. With this job I have been able to travel around North America and Europe and see some really incredible places. While in Atlanta my other two kids were born, Lucas and Eileen.
I still enjoy reading, playing guitar, camping and spending time with the family. We have been blessed to be involved in the mission of the church in our community and abroad. Last year, Melanie and I went to Bulgaria to minister in some orphanages (Melanie returns this month). This year, with the older kids, we participated in a mission to a low-income housing project in Smyrna, TN. With the kids, the missions, the opportunity - I have been really blessed.
