Darell Taylor

Hi I'm Darell M. Taylor, a proud alumna of South Andros Senior High School. Some of the best years of my life were spent at this high school. I look back with fond memories at my school days.

Friends

I was privileged to have met some of the most interesting people ever at this institution. Pauline Stuart tops my list, thanks a million girl for your friendship. I continue to value it. Serena Rolle (Patrice then) , one of the brightest in the class. Stanley Sands, my nemesis! He has not changed one bit. Otis my neighbour and walking home partner. Shayvone Moxey, smart and skillful. Monique Sands , quiet as mouse! Curtis Pride, the cutest guy. Johnny Pride his equally cute brother.

Rosemary Flowers, who always looked neat, even after we had P.E! did she ever break a sweat? Kayla Neely always had those all-important questions that just that had to be answered. I always thought she would made a good lawyer. Beverley Johnson was the diva! Candy Johnson had the most radiant smile, yet at least twice per week I got a beat down from Candy. Trevor Phillips ..mmm...couldn't really tell whether he had a crush on me or he really just enjoyed tormenting me. I'll ask him when I next see him! Sharmine Smith was soo quiet!

I enjoyed and continue to enjoy the lasting friendships. Thank you all so much for impacting my life.


Teachers

Without contradiction, I believe we had some of the finest teachers in the country. I'm not being bias when I say that Mr. Forbes (Senior Master, music teacher) was the best. He continues to be more than a father figure, a mentor, a friend, and a standard bearer to me!

Then there was Ms, Johnson, the history teacher. She was great! She made history come alive. Additionally, she cooked the best Jamaican cuisine . MMmm I can still taste the escovich fish. Thanks Ms Johnson! Thanks for helping me score that A.

Mr. Bryon Long, (Economics) gets my award as a great teacher and just all around great guy.

Mr. Rahiem, thanks for your persistance, math GCE was a breeze! What was his favourite saying..."the heights of great men reached and kept were not attain by sudden flight, but they while their companions slept were toiling onward through the night." I toil on even now!

Ms. Anderson, (English Language), awesome teacher. Ms Anderson surely she must win the award for the guardian of the written and spoken word at SASH. Thanks for my A at GCE o'levels. I still ain't quite sure yet how that happened! Thank you soooooooo much for the assistance in editing my speeches and to opening my eyes to the various cultural icons around the Eastern Caribbean. My profession speaks volumes to the impact you have made in my life. I'm forever grateful!

I certainly can't forget Mr. John Cotton. He certainly brought new meaning to science at work in the classroom. Thanks for telling me that antiseptic meant for use "outside" of the body. Whew! Otherwise I am sure would have ingested Dettol. Duh! However, those 11s class parties were the best - partying on your fishing boat, who could ask for better!
