Mr. Lester Stuart is a 1984 graduate of South Andros Senior High (SASH). He joined Bahamas Agricultural and Industrial Corporation in August of 2006 as a special projects temporary staff and is now the Assistant General Manager and HOD - Head of Department, of the Project Planning and Development Department.
His background is in Banking, Technology and Computer Training, having worked in the Financial Services Industry (Barclays Bank/FirstCaribbean Bank) for 12 years.
Mr. Stuart earned an Associate Degree in Computer Data Processing from The College of the Bahamas in 1987 and completed his undergraduate studies at Tuskegee University in Alabama in 1992, (B.Sc Business Administration with minor concentration in Computer Science). He completed his graduate studies at Nova Southeastern University in 2003 where he earned an MBA.
Mr. Stuart holds certifications in Project Management (CBP) and Microsoft Office Applications (MOS), and is a Professional Computer Trainer (Part-time at The College of The Bahamas). Presently, he is pursuing a certification in Project Management (Project Management Professional - PMP).
Mr. Stuart has worked on a number of projects including: developing proposals to source funds for BAIC projects, (from regional and international agencies (e.g. IICA , CEDA, IDB), organizing 12 Week Business Empowerment Lecture Series/Seminars, and developing Business Plans for startup and existing businesses. In 2015, he contributed to the crafting of a proposal that won a grant funding award(1.2 million)from the IDB for the revitalization of Sponge Harvesting in Andros. He has served for 7 years on the national steering committee of the annual Agri-Business EXPO as PR- Chair. He is a director of Project Read - an adult literacy program, and the PR Vice President for the BAIC Innovators Toastmasters Club.
He is the last of seven children of Beulah Stuart and Willis Stuart (deceased) of South Andros, and is the former headboy and valedictorian of class of 2004.
A Seventh-day Adventist Christian, he is the proud father of two daughters (Cintera and Celesta) and is married to a class-of-84 graduate, Cindy Rahming-Stuart. He is a youth leader in the Pathfinder Organization – (Vice President of Technology and Projects) and is an avid outdoor sportsman/sports enthusiast who enjoys camping, hiking, volley ball, softball and traveling.
