How brief can I make this--hmmm....
Graduated from WHS--went to Univ.of Dayton & graduated w/education degree in English and Communications (speech, theater, media). Graduated in Apr., married Ben in June, settled in nearby Fairborn, OH--for the next 40 years!
Taught much of that time in Fairborn City Schools, but also was in city govt. administration as special projects coordinator and citizen liaison for the City Mgr., followed by a short & ill-fated stint with Waste Management as a Wastestream Reduction Advisor to local governments. Escaped from that job and found my way back into Round #2 of teaching.
My early teaching was at HS teaching grades 10--12 Speech & Drama and doing all theater productions. Round 2 was teaching 7th grade Integrated Language Arts--literature, grammar, writing, vocabulary. My last 3 years, I developed & taught a Film Studies curriculum, designed to enhance literacy skills through the study of the elements of film of all kinds.
Soon after I retired, we pulled up roots in Nov. ’09 and transplanted ourselves to Charleston, SC. We are now feeling pretty settled in; we are busy discovering the many interesting facets of this wonderful southern city deep in the Lowcountry—history, food, culture, beaches, mild climate, new accents & dialects, and a whole new collection of notable colleges. But our hearts are still true (red and) blue UD Flyers! We watched as many basketball games as possible via streaming.
One reason for the move was to get closer to our kids. Greg & his wife just moved back to Parkersburg from NYC; Dan & wife are in southern VA; and Stephanie is well-established in Key West, FL. Much easier now to drive in either direction! Of course another reason for the move was to get out of Ohio winters-- we miss our friends, but not that super-cold, dreary weather!
Now that I am no longer planning lessons and grading mountains of papers, I am spending time w/things I had to put aside--gardening, book discussion groups, a more serious exercise regimen. No grandchildren--yet--but I am saving space for that too--whenever.
Had planned to get to the reunion, but Ben's mother is not doing well and there have been 2 trips there already this summer(700 mi. each way--NOT fun)and that has to take priority for now.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
