Today's Featured Biography
Heather Moore
Well, I've got to say I was a 'professional student' for several years. Just couldn't decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. I attended WVU, WVU-P, and Glenville State College, before deciding to take a break from school and move to Charlotte, NC, in 1995. I worked for Alamo Rent A Car for the majority of my time in Charlotte. Started in the call center, then transferred to the rental station at the airport and into management. While I was living in Charlotte, my sister had a baby, and I was missing so much of her growing up, that I decided to head back home in February 2001. It's really hard to believe that I've been back in the area now for over 7 years! I got pregnant and had my beautiful daughter, Lakyn, on August 13, 2002. I knew the day I found out I was pregnant I would be a single mom. Her father wasn't much of a father...pretty much just my sperm donor. It was hard, but oh so worth it. Being a mother has changed my life and how I look at the world. My daughter is challenging to say the least. She's so smart, but has got to be the most stubborn 6-year-old I've ever known! That should benefit her when she becomes an adult, at least I hope. She plays soccer in the community league here in Parkersburg. That is where I ended up settling, by the way. I just couldn't bring myself to move to Elizabeth...Parkersburg was as close as I could go. I worked a few different jobs the first few years back...all the while constantly applying for jobs at the Bureau of the Public Debt. I finally wrapped up my college years with a bachelor's degree in May 2003. I went with the Board of Regent's degree...I had enough credit hours so I just paid my graduation fee, and got my degree. Now, after all of those diligent applications to Public Debt, I finally got hired. I will have been here for 4 years in January, 2009. My job is great, my co-workers are fabulous, and the job stability is something that I needed. I bought my first house in October 2005, and I live in North Parkersburg. So, when Lakyn grows up, she'll be a Big Red. That's kind of intimidating for such a small school girl as me...but I'm sure I'll adjust. Lakyn's dad, Jerrod, and I decided to give it another go in February, 2008, and surprise surprise...it didn't work out. Hard to have a relationship with a narcissist. I'm starting to get the moving bug. I think living in the city changed me more than I thought. The man-situation here in Parkersburg sucks...do men not work here? I loved living in Charlotte, and not even 5 months after I moved back here...I questioned that decision. But, I believe I was brought back here to have my precious daughter. I also have 4 furry children. My mini daschund, Marcel, my black lab, Polly, and my two kitties, Jazzy and Pixie. I'm really looking forward to seeing everyone at our 20th reunion...hard to believe it's really been that long...surely someone has miscalculated, right? Well, anyway, I'm gonna wrap this thing up...if you can't make it to the reunion, I hope this at least catches you up on what I've been up to for the past 20 years.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
