Today's Featured Biography
Barbara Kammer Benkoski
The small town of Ripon, Wisconsin has been my home for over 32 years. I had lived in Fort Atkinson, WI after I had gotten my teaching degree from Cardinal Stritch College. We live seven miles from beautiful Green Lake. I enjoy being with friends, gardening, traveling and being active in my community and church.
We have an ‘empty nest’ so we have invited international students from Ripon College to stay with us. In addition, we’ve hosted teachers from South Korea and Japan to live with us. Traveling has been one of my favorite activities. I’ve been involved in two house building projects with Habitat for Humanity in Fiji. I’m hoping to do a build in the future in a western European country.
My church family is very special to me, and I have been involved in various ministries such as teaching Sunday School, directing Vacation Bible School, and helping with missions organizations. I’m thankful for God’s guidance in my life and for His gift of grace.
Since I had retired in 2011 from teaching kindergarten, I have been involved in our family business. My husband and I manage properties. When we are not working, we enjoy motorcycling, boating, and traveling on AmTrak. I enjoy meeting people and seeing different parts of the U.S. I am blessed to have good friends, and thankful for my family.
