Today's Featured Biography
Mary Alice O'Connor
I have lived in Madison, Wisconsin off and on since the late 80s and raised my family here. None of them are in prison so we must have done OK raising them. I have spent the bulk of my career in different roles around politics and public relations and a lot of public speaking and water. I am married to a Norweigan so we subscribe to a magazine called "Boat Engine Parts."
I go by Alice, not Mary. Anyone who calls me Mary is someone out of my far, far past who had hopes of me being a nun. Instead, I have on occasion been an HTO-- habitual traffic offender, due to too many speeding tickets in one year. This has afforded me the opportunity to go to the class for losers to pick up three points on my drivers license. I blame all my driving habits on Lucy Hope who taught me how to drive fast in Tosa. My husband Gunnar, being Norweigan, loves boats and measures all his words before he speaks, unlike myself. I am often wrong, but never in doubt. We have a big sail boat on Lake Michgian and have more toys than time.
Our son Lars is now building boats on Lake Geneva, daughter Leah is in college concerned she has too many similarities to her mother and will need ongoing therapy to address her issues ( but she cnat have my isuses she needs otget her own) and then there is my youngest, now 18. Signe is "my forever young sweet potato." She went through open heart surgery at birth and was without oxegen for over an hour. Having a child who is "special" is a daily reminder that it was alot easier to plan the next ski trip instead of someone else's life. Signe only lives in the present and is my constant teacher.
I look back on our class with such fondness. We had such a sense of humor and mindfulness about our confusion in life. I still remember our high school class trip and my $19.99 sleeping bag, digging some stupid hole with Jane Harwood to sleep in but ending up in some outhouse with two other frozen TESHFA's. (Tosa East Seniors Heading for Appalachia.) For some reason I also remember obsessively crocheting hats and finishing one right about the time Mike Walentowksi needed to puke in it. I am sure it was just the "flu." Hats off to Mark Scheller for getting us going!! Remember-- it's Alice unless you want me to pray for you. Then it is Mary. As a sinner, my prayers probably count more. Life is good and as long as I can look up, I get up. :)

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
