Joe Eckberg

Joe Eckberg firmly believes that the technical world should look and sound better than it currently does and wants to help everybody reach that goal.
Joe Eckberg grew up in Green Bay, Wisconsin. He first became involved in the television production world in 5th grade when he started working with the Media Services department at the Brown County Library. When participating in a Public Television program on children’s book authors, he was much more interested in what was going on “behind the scenes” than the interview, and has never looked back. Throughout grade school and high school, he worked in different technical capacities for such organizations as the Diocese of Green Bay and WBAY TV-2. His love of technology lead him to pursue a Communications degree from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. After receiving his BA from UW-Madison, Joe spent two years living out of a suitcase while on the Ice Capades North American Tour, as the Sound Supervisor. Once off the road, Joe spent two years working with video and audio conferencing technology for the University of Wisconsin – Extension. Joe spent another two years working as a technical support representative and as the technical coordinator for the Trade Show department of an audio video software company. When the Tech Bubble burst in the late 1990’s, Joe went to work in the performing arts, as the Technical Director for two of Green Bay’s premier performing arts centers; the Meyer Theatre, and the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.
Joe joined Camera Corner in 2006. “I enjoy our focus of putting the customer first and providing the best service possible,” Joe said. “It is exciting to be a part of the ever-changing world of technology.” “Joe has the unique ability to understand complex problems and create a solution,” Rick Chernick, owner of Camera Corner reports. Mr. Chernick continues, “I can count on Joe to help out our customers when they need it, day or night. We’re so glad that Joe is leading our AV engineering team.”
Joe has his CTS (Certified Technical Specialist certificate), and is an Extron Certified AV Associate. He is a Journeyman Stagehand for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Local #470, and is also the NFL Instant Replay Technician; part of the Game-Day operations team at Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers.
Joe and his wife Karen live in Green Bay, Wisconsin with their 2 daughters, Maddie, 13 and Zoe, 7. They enjoy spending time at the family cottage in Door County and at the Cabin in Oconto County. Joe’s interests include cooking, reading, participating in shooting sports activities, and is a hobby gunsmith.
