Today's Featured Biography
Raymond Koeller
After a less than successful career at UW Marathon, I enlisted in the US Army in 1985. I started my Army career with the 82d Airborne for six years. I then traveled to Idaho to be a recruiter for three years, Hawaii to do infantry stuff for four years,Ft Riley, Kansas for more infantry stuff, Ft Jackson SC to be a Drill Sergeant for three years, and finished my career in Guam where I was an active duty advisor to the reserve components. While I was in the Army, I got married to my lovely wife and Antigo resident, Bonnie VanderLeest. My son, Nicholas, was born two days after I returned from Operation Desert Storm. My daughter, Amber, was born in Idaho while I was on recruiting duty. I retired from the Army as a SFC(P) without getting the chance to deploy to either Iraq or Afghanistan. Upon retiring, I got hired by the state of Wisconsin to be a correctional officer. I have been working at the maximum security facility at Green Bay for the last three years. I am also taking advantage of a wonderful state education program that has allowed me to go back to college. I am currently enrolled as a Senior at UWGB in the Interdisciplinary Studies Program for a Minor in Business and am projected to graduate in May 2010. I look forward to meeting my old classmates as I prepare to send my kids out into the world.
