Today's Featured Biography
Ray Wiseman
Attended the University of Idaho 1985 - 1992, at the same time I fought forest fires in 7 states over three years, was a tree faller for a logging company, and joined the ARMY Reserves. I was activated in 1990 as a combat engineer for Operation Desert Storm (IRAQ I), got married in 1991 to Christina Heintzman (WSU), and in the spring of 1992 took my first professional job with Bristol Myers Squib, supervising contractors in WA, OR, and ID who were harvesting yew bark for a cancer fighting derivative. We moved back to Yakima in the fall of 1992, after I took a job
with the Yakama Indian Nation as a forester. I was promoted, and ran their Geographic Information Department (GIS) for seven years. During that time I designed and installed their data network, and helped install over 70 miles of fiber optic lines. I was asked to develop a Tribal Electric Utility on the reservation in 2003. The Tribe began delivering power in March of 2006, and now I am the General MAnager for Yakama Power. Working for the Tribe I fought fires in four more states, have given presentations all over the U.S., have lobbied in Washington D.C., and generally have enjoyed doing things I would have never been allowed to do at another company. We bought 10 acres in Moxee in 1994, and built our own home in 1998 (Won't do that again). My wife and I started an embroidery and printing business in 2001, and have been expanding and operating it out of our home ever sense. We have three children, "Rebecca, Ethan, and Jessica", five horses, two dogs, two hermit crabs, and only two cats that we claim.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
