Jean Winegarden Creasey

The first thing I think of when I realize it’s been 55 years since we all graduated from Wenatchee High School, is how good life has been to me.
I have truly learned to appreciate my church, our wonderful country, my family and home.
After high school I attended Wenatchee Valley College day and night classes, at different times. Married in 1954 but that marriage failed after 10 years.….
In the years after high school I was part owner of an apple orchard, worked for KPQ Radio Station, Dr. Earl Evans, Hamilton Fruit Company, Northern Fruit Company, Coca Cola and Wenatchee Valley College..

Married Larry in 1967 and moving to Mesa, Arizona, I became a full time stay at home mom to our three kids . Larry was a commercial pilot involved with crop dusting, fire fighting and even worked in Hawaii on the movie Tora, Tora, Tora, We as a family were able to live in Hawaii during the filming of the movie (four months). We’ve lived in Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, Arizona, Idaho, and Oregon as well as Washington. The most memorable thing about the south was having our kids in school during the first year of integration.

During our years in Idaho we were involved with 4-H and horse shows. We raised horses and cattle on our little farm and the girls did really well in 4-H.. Larry built us a beautiful log home in Lewiston. We lived there for 8 years while Larry tried to change his profession back to construction from flying. Lasted 2 years and he had to get back into flying…Can’t take flying out of a man’s soul…

We moved to Sequim in 1978 and Larry built us another home on a small farm. We once again raised horses and cattle. Larry was back into flying full time. We bought a fishing boat and spent many hours fishing the Strait of Juan De Fuca. We lived in Sequim for 20 years. Larry retired from flying in 1994 and we moved to Lincoln City, Oregon in 1998. Larry tired his hand as a Casino dealer and finally retired last year( after 15 years) when our next door neighbor asked him to go fishing. Been fishing ever since..
My hobbies have consisted of making porcelain dolls, oil painting and playing the piano.

We enjoy our motor home and last year took our youngest granddaughter (14) to see all the sights between here and Wessington Springs, South Dakota, my birth place. We saw all the sights. We are lucky to have our daughter Cris living close by in Wilsonville, Oregon and we see her often, she is truly, “Our Living Hawaiian Souvenir.”

June, my twin and I started out together and here we are living just 10 miles apart in Lincoln City, Oregon, after being separated by many miles most of our adult years. Seems good to have her close by in our older adult years…..

Larry and I have enjoyed good health for the most part. There have been a few heartaches, but that’s just part of life and we have weathered them together. Wouldn’t change much of anything even if I could….
