Today's Featured Biography
Brandon Silva
What's up? Hard to believe it's been ten years. Much has happened since I have seen a lot of you. First and foremost I gave my life to Jesus and he has rocked my world, gave me a new view on life, and has brought a hope and a peace to me that I would trade for nothing. It's funny how much a person can change. So on to the ten year journey...
Out of high school I got married and went to an electrical trade school for two years all the while skating for different skate teams in the pacific northwest. I landed a job in the Seattle area and than had a bad knee injury. I was basically out of commission for about a year. After a major reconstructive knee surgery, I decided that I wanted a change of senery, so I moved to the central coast of California and landed in San Luis Obispo. Than I joined the Union of Electrical Workers and also got hooked up with my favorite skate team: SAP Skateboards. This took me all over the United States- it was sweet, skating and sharing the love of Jesus. After a while my life took a turn for the worse, and my marriage dissinigrated. Life was very hard, but with God's strength and grace I made it through and learned a few hard life lessons. After a while I had the amazing opportunity to go to Zambia, Africa. I went through an organization called Lifewater International. We repaired water hand-pumps and taught the nationals how to maintain them, also teaching hygiene and sanitation. This changed my worldview- we are so blessed!
While in Africa, I met my soulmate Kristen (who is not an African- if you were wondering:) We dated for about a year and than married. It was truely a redeeming time in my life. Around that time I ventured out on my own in the electrical industry and started with a partner our business Lost Coast Electrical. It has taken off and I am very busy learning how to run a business. So now life looks like: work during the week with as much travel, surfing and exploring of the Big Sur Coast as possible. Well, that's about it. I am pretty sure that I will be there for the reunioun and I look forward to seeing all of you. Until then... Brandon
