Linda Leu Bender

I have been an occupational therapy assistant for the past 10 years, the last 7 years being at Lourdes Medical Center in Pasco, Washington. Prior to that, while my 3 girls were in school I had the opportunity to be an at-home mother, using my BA in education toward their development.

The oldest daughter (32), Trina, was a microbiologist with Bechtel until recently -- first in Dugway, Utah and then in Columbus, Ohio. She is married to Rob, who is a biochemist, and currently works for Bechtel in Columbus. Trina and Rob have a 7 month old daughter, and for now Trina is happy to be an at-home mother.

The middle daughter (29), Wendy, is living in Ellensburg, Washington. She has Down's Syndrome and must put all her energy in just being herself.

The youngest daughter (26), Amber, joined the Army after high school, later became a massage therapist in Texas, and now is a full time student on her way to earning a degree in environmental studies at Western Washington University. She is married to Steve, who she met in the Army, and who is currently employed as a machinist. Amber and Steve have a 6 year old daughter who will be in first grade this fall.

I married Jim Bender (Jerry Bender's brother), 5 years ago after meeting him at the PHS clas of 1966 35th reunion. (I attend the 1966 reunions since that was the class I was most associated with -- I lacked 2 credits of grauating with that class, thus continued on with the class of 1967.) Jim and I are looking forward to retiring in approximately 1 year. Jim is a safety officer for Fluor Hanford.

We are very involved in our church (Bethel in Richland) and are excited to be leading a small group for remarrieds this fall.
