Emmett Maloof
At present:
Managing partner for a real estate development partnership with my 3 brothers and their wives called Maloof Family LLC. Our vision is to build a portfolio of mixed commercial real estate that will be the foundation of income and employment for our children and their children.
Chair of the Mercer Island Design Commission
On the Mercer Island School District Advisory Board
On the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce Board and past president
On the Board of a Divinity School at the University of California in Berkeley, CA and past chair of the advancement committee
Active in the Mercer Island Community, in addition to the above, on two previous committees dealing with goals for the Town Center and assisting the City of Mercer Island with updating the State mandated Growth Management Act.
Previously, I spent 21 years at Johnson & Higgins and Marsh McLennan from 1980 to 2001 that included various positions to Senior Vice President and Account Manager for Boeing overseeing the design and implementation of large aviation, property, casualty and workers compensation insurance programs, arranging reinsurance and captive fronting programs.
Previous Activities/Designations/Education
Both Senior Warden and Junior Warden on the Emmanuel Vestry from (1999-2002) during the time we embarked on a successful $2 million capital campaign and building project. Construction was completed in March 05.
During this time, I was also on Emmanuels Finance Committee, Stewardship Committee, Capital Campaign Committee and Facilities Planning Committee.
Past member (1986-2001) of the Executive Industry Board of Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center
Past President of Insurance and Brokers of the West for Washington, Alaska and Oregon, member 1986 to 2001
Former Chairman of the IBA West Governmental Affairs Committee
Board of Directors IBA West Parent Company 1998 to 2001
Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) 1986.
Bachelor's in Business Administration, University of Washington 1967
Personal History
Born in New York City, 1944, moved to Mercer Island in 1946. Married my high school sweetheart, Sandy, in 1966. We have two grown children, ages 41 & 38 and two grandchildren. We enjoy boating, skiing, entertaining and I enjoy elk, deer, antelope and bird hunting with my son.
