Today's Featured Biography
Rod Graham
Still here in the NW. Haven't ever moved away even for a few days. No where else so good to live. No visit ever good enough to pull me away from home.
Been through a number of jobs. No failures, just no exciting success. Finally, one pulled me to Kirkland. Amazing little town I use to visit in the sixties. Remember in 66, 405 ended at 520. Nice place. Scenic, while Kent was just nice. No cows, nor cabbage in the fall.
Followed a job here in 1989. Been here ever since, not ever looked back, but miss yawl. We all need to get together & catch up, before any more pass. Any one notice Loretta & Red & Mr Dennison are gone?
The last almost 20 years, have been relatively uneventful, however full of rewarding, warm relationsips and fun.
I have opened a new business, Rod Graham Handyman & Painting Services. (RGH&PS) This venture has been very rewarding. It's probably also the last. After all, as much as Mother hated me saying it, we are getting older.
RGH&PS is a small boutique, highly skilled and highly principled construction practice focusing on painting.
RGH&PS is very rewarding because I can solve numerous challenges for home owners, many have become very good friends. Many rely on me to care for their families' homes, and send their kids to me for their first work experience. I can just imagine what Yas would say about some of these kids and their work ethics.
The worst part of my work is that I can't help everyone. I just can't save people from their foolishness and must step back, whether they make bad decisions about selling or fixing their house, or working or running errands.
When I daydream, I often think about: the warm days picking beans in Yas' bean field watching the 737s flying in the Beattles, Sonny & Cher, and the Rolling Stones.
Never forget one class mate commenting she would so love to spend just one night w/ John. He could anything he wanted. Pretty bold if you think about it, that WAS 1964.
Some Favorites:
On the Beach by Grahame Greene
Alisha Keyes, As I Am or Melissa Etheridge, Brave & Crazy
Love to read the Obituaries and send 'em to Julie Shackleford (Huseby). ( She has a really good husband if you haven't talked to Howard.)
Restaurant: during the week: Hanuman Thai, weekends: Thumra Thai.
Romantic dinner: Lynne's Bistro
Coffee Shop: Rose Hill Starbuck's
place to Make Out (@ our age?) Marina Park
place to watch the sunset: Clancy's. (U can make out here, too)(oops, did I say that?)
Movie: Once Upon a Time in the West
Favorite thing to do in Kirkland:
Passe Giatta
What's the one thing Kirkland needs most? Class of 66 get together

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
