Today's Featured Biography
Brenda Cooper Falk
After high school, I got a B.A. in Religious Studies at Reed College. I wrote a thesis on Chinese American Buddhists in California (1914-196?). After graduation, I went on to get my Masters at the University of Colorado at Boulder. During a Summer Japanese language class, I met Justin, an economics major who had recently returned from a trip around the world with "Semester at Sea." On our first date we went to a mediterranean restaurant and the movies, and I had a feeling this was going to be something significant in my life. Some six months later we went on a trip to Europe together and ended up in Rome, Italy- where he proposed. Two years after we met, we got married in a beautiful ceremony on a balcony overlooking the Colorado mountains. A few months later we'd moved to Tokyo Japan with the JET Program, to teach English in Japanese high schools. I completed my masters thesis (on mizuko kuyo) while we travelled all over Japan, from Hakodate to Arita. After two years of life in Japan, we decided to come back to America to pursue our respective careers. We moved to Mountain View, California, where Justin works for one of the many Internet companies in the area, and I attend Stanford, working on my PhD. Actually, Justin's in Bangalore, India for a few weeks right now, and I'll be going back to Japan in July for a summer language program. Looks like there's going to be a lot of travel in our future!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
