Amber Avery Foster

What have I been doing the last ten years.....A LOT!!! I graduated from CEU in 1999 and then attended Utah State University where I received a Bachelors of Psychology. I started working with Child and Family Services in 2001 and have been there ever since! I am the lead worker on my team and had the opportunity to open the Orem family drug court program in 2003. Jon also works for the state and is a network engineer.
I met my husband in December 2001 and we were married one year later. We lived in Provo for about a year and then moved to a new home in Saratoga Springs. We sold that home last year, and built another home in Saratoga Springs. We just moved in April 2007. We love our neighborhood and the area that we live! And we are just very happy to have a place of our own again!! We were quite adventurous when we were dating and first married. We would sporadically take trips to various places and spend the weekend hiking, camping, and mountain biking. I even tried skiing...that was VERY short lived. I blew out my knee the second day and ended up with ACL surgery....NEVER AGAIN!! Our favorite place to hike is Zion National Park, the second favorite Glacier and Banff. Our adventures seemed to slow down a little as we moved into our first home and found ourselves slaves to our yard, and then also starting a family. Cambrie was born in 2005 and is the joy of our lives! I love being a mom. We haven't let her slow us down too much, though. We have taken up running!! Cambrie is a good sport and trucks along with us in her jogging stroller...although 14 miles seems to be her limit! We have both come to love running races. I ran my first marathon, Salt Lake City, last year. I also ran two half marathons last year. We just found out we drew out for the St. George marathon which is October 6th and have started training for that. We are very excited!! We still love to travel and are in the process of planning a couple vacations for this year.
One of my biggest accomplishments from high school just occured in April of this year. I co-directed a 5K charity run, "An April Run for Olivia." It was a charity run for Olivia, who lost her mother in the house explosion earlier this year. It happened to be our neighbor and we wanted to help. The event turned into something much more then we ever expected. It was a lot of hard work and planning, but a day that I will never forget. The support of 1500 runners far exceeding our expectations!
