After, high school, I attended one year at University of Texas at Arlington. I then served a 2 year LDS mission in Peru. Upon returning, I attended Brigham Young University, and graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering in 1977, and two years later with an MBA in 1979.
I married Nancy Lynn Burnham, from California, in 1976.
I worked for AT&T from 1979 through 1983,living in the San Francisco Bay Area, L.A., and Washington, D.C. I had my own start-up in telecommunications from 1983-1985, in the Washington, D.C. area. I joined Booz, Allen, & Hamilton, management consultants, in 1985, doing telecommunications consulting, and moved from Virginia back to the SF Bay Area.
In 1989, we moved to Denver to work for U.S. West. I had a 11 year career there, rising to the CEO of a major division of the company.
In 1998, our family moved to London, where I became EVP of International Wireless Operations of MediaOne Group, as spin-off of U.S. West.
In 2000, MediaOne was acquired, and is now a part of Comcast. We returned to Denver, and I returned to management consulting in a small firm I created with some former colleagues.
In 2005, a partner and I founded a company that provides dental implant treatment services across the U.S. (ClearChoice Dental Implant Centers). In 2011, we sold controlling interest to a private equity company.
Today, Nancy and I continue to live in Denver. We have 5 children, and 7 grandchildren. I continue to work at ClearChoice, and Nancy operates a retail Quilting Shop. We are enjoying good health, have a great family, and feel very blessed.
