Today's Featured Biography
Gary Williams
Went to Texarkana College from 72-74. Entered the US Air Force in October 1974. Basic Training at Lackland AFB San Antonio TX, Then Technical training at Goodfellow AFB, San Angelo TX for 32 weeks. First assignment was RAF Chicksands, Bedfordshire England, was there from 1975-1979, From there stationed at Brooks AFB San Antonio TX from 79-82. Then stationed at RAF Edzell, Angus Scotland from 82-86. Then moved To Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs from 86-90. Went to School in Pensacola Florida at Navy Technical Training Center, Cory Station for 8 months. Was then stationed at RAF Feltwell England from 90-93. In 93 I moved back to Peterson AFB, Colorado Springs CO, and worked as technical lead for Space Control Acquisitions until I retired in 1996. Was hired by The Aerospace Corporation, a not for profit Federally Funded Research and Development Center (FFRDC). Aerospace serves as the watchdog for Air Force space acquisitons. I worked on two ground systems, and three satellite acquisition programs that has seen 7 successful satellite launches. It was a great and challenging job. Retired in November 2019, still live in Colorado Springs, CO, and enjoy travelling in our 45' class A motorhome. We have wintered in Arizona, Texas coast, San Diego and Las Vegas for the last two winters (20 and 21). Havew not been back to Texarkana but once in 2015, to bury my Mom's ashes. Will try to get back once in a while since I am retired. Like golfing, fishing, good beer, and margaritas.
