After finishing college at Sopie Newcomb, Tulane University in New Orleans, I returned to Lubbock and got an MA in Sociology. Thereafter, first husband Eric Allstrom and I lived in Houston, travelled to London, then settled in Atlanta, Georgia. We divorced 1972. No children. I love Atlanta. I'm delighted to live where there are green things, and I love to garden in my back yard, which is inspired by Japanese style gardens. In 1976 I married Patrick Fincher, a carpenter with two young children. We had Anna in 1979. I received credentials as a Professional Art Therapist (ATR) and Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and have worked in a variety of mental health settings. I have also written a number of books about creating mandalas, or circular designs with psychological significance. Five of my books are adult coloring books. I'm presently working on a new book--also about creating mandalas. (See my website www.CreatingMandalas.com for more info).
