Today's Featured Biography
Elizabeth Haney Cummings
We had our 50th anniversary in 2010; Dallas County has been our home area for all 50 years. Our gift to ourselves was to spend 5 weeks at the Chautauqua Institution at Chautauqua, New York.
Our son was born in Dallas and currently lives in Evanston, Illinois with his wife and two sons. We find being grandparents somewhat awesome. However, being long-distance grandparents is not as good as when our son and his family lived in Dallas.
After completing the first college degree by attending four colleges, I worked fulltime and completed two more degrees. The last degree was from the University of North Texas in 1994.
Forty years were spent in private and public school teaching / administration positions. That included several years at the local community college. Beginning in January 2009, I began working in online college teaching; I've found it energizing and rather enjoyable.
During the 1960s and 1970s, we toured the western states with our camping trailer and whichever pet our son took with us. We found Minnesota again in the early 1990s and found the north shore of Lake Superior was a marvelous spot to visit. Throughout the 1990s we visited several eastern states. During the new century, we've expanded -- finally -- to Europe through choir tours to Canada, Austria, The Czech Republic, Italy, France, and Scotland / England and various cruises (Alaska, 2 repositioning cruises and then through the Panama Canal).
In my retirement, I've found satisfaction in volunteer work, singing in a choir, reading, cooking (especially new recipes), and learning to live in downtown Dallas. We downsized significantly by selling our house of 42 years, distributing excess items to various organizations, and finding ways to meet our needs without using a car.
I am working to organize our memories on the computor. Some memories (slides, movies) have already been transferred to disks.
We finally made one of our "buckets" -- a trip through the Panama Canal. Fantastic cruise. There are still some places to go. We'll see.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
