Robert Glover
Robert L. Glover currently WORKS as an Operations and Plans Analyst for Silverback 7, Inc., supporting the Army Directed Studies Office (ADSO) and conducts decision support Red Teaming. He retired fromt the United States Marine Corps as a Lieutenant Colonel of Marines in September of 2008.
Robert was born overseas at Johnson AFB in Tokyo, Japan. He graduated from Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 1985. In 1986, he attended the 133rd Officer Candidate Class, Quantico, Virginia, and was commissioned a Second Lieutenant of Marines.
Robert was an Aviation Command and Control Officer while serving in your Corps. He also served as a Civil-Affairs officer, a Weapons and Tactics Instructor and an Air Defense Control Officer. He served extensively on both coasts of the United States and beyond in support of Marine Corps exercises and operational commitments. He is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm as a member of MACS 7, Det A, having served on board the USS Tripoli and in Saudi Arabia. He is also a veteran of Operation Restore Hope in Somalia, having served in the CJFACC staff, 3rd MAW. Robert recently returned from Operation Iraqi Freedom, having served as the Director for both the Provincial Civil-Military Operations Center and the Al Qa’im Regional Civil-Military Operations Center in the Al Anbar Province, Iraq.
Robert is a fully qualified Tactical Air Operations Center Officer, MOS 7202. He also holds qualifications in the Tactical Air Command Center. Lieutenant Colonel Glover is a graduate of the US Navy Fighter Weapons School or TOPGUN, and is a qualified Weapons and Tactics Instructor. He has completed over 1,700 ground controlled aircraft intercepts during the course of his career and is recognized as a subject matter expert in air defense and aviation command and control.
He received his Masters of Arts degree in Human Resources Development and Management from Webster University in 1993 but he didn't stop there. He has also completed the Reserve Officer Strategy and Policy course held at the Naval War College, Newport, RI, and is a 2007 graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces (ICAF) and was awarded a M.S. in National Resource Strategy.
Robert is also the former Commanding Officer of the 4th Light Anti-Aircraft Missile Battalion and Site Commander for the Marine Corps Training Center, Fresno, California. He is also a 1999 graduate of the United States Marine Corps Command and Staff College.
Robert's personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Meritoriuous Service Medal, the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (Gold Star in lieu of 2nd award), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Combat Action Ribbon (Gold Star in lieu of 2nd award), the Selected Marine Corps Reserve Medal (w/2 stars), the National Defense Service Medal (w/1 star), the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, the Armed Forces Reserve Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal (w/2 stars), the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the United Nations Medal, the Iraqi Campaign Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) and the Kuwaiti Liberation Medal (Kingdom of Kuwait).
Robert is married to the former Frances Villagran of San Antonio, Texas. Frances is in her dissertation period for her Ph.d., from George Mason University (yes, she is the better half). Together, they have seven children: Andrew (22), Ashley (21), Amanda (19), Austin (17), Alyssa (15), Adrian (8), and Aliana (5); the A-Team.
