Has it been 25 years already? Okay, well after graduation and attending Pan Am on and off for a total of approximately 12 years I finally graduated with a degree in English and Generic Special Education. I have been teaching with the Edcouch-Elsa I.S.D./High School since 1996 in the area of Special Education. Before finding my true calling in the world of education, I was the News and Public Affairs Director for various valley radio stations, my air name was Debbie del Rio. I enjoyed that part of my career very much and have many fond memories. I am the mother of an awesome 8 year old son Tyler Jacob Villarreal which I had through artificial insemination (by choice). Imagine my embarrassment when I would hear my mother tell people at H.E.B. and the Elsa Post Office that I was "buying sperm" (I didn't even know she knew the word, and yet here she was using it as frequently as you say Good Morning). I still live in Elsa and for those of you that remember my grandmother and where she lived (those of you that recall getting together to sing Mananitas for Mother's Day) I now live on her property. Both my parents are still alive , Dad will be 80 next year and Mom is 79 they still live at home with my niece Chandra who is now 23. Personal information: I had a partner up until about 7 years ago when we went our separate ways. I have been single since then.
