Well……after just reading John Davidson’s and Jack Roosa’s bio’s, I guess I have done nothing. I wasn’t sure if I was actually reading about John Davidson or Jack Kerouac! Good Lord, John!! And then with Roosa’s stories of flying fighter jets over Iraq and building missiles, I am tempted to just stop here, but might as well push on. After flying my last space shuttle mission in 2002, I decided to retire from NASA and…..oh forget it.
Actually, I guess I am kind of a late bloomer. At the advanced age of 48, I am just now feeling like I am starting to hit my stride. Since 87, I have performed my comedy routine, the “World’s Worst Waiter”, for corporate and association events around the country. It is an absolute blast and after doing this for over 20 years now, I still can’t believe what I get paid to do! I also spent about 25 years playing drums for various bands and singer-songwriters all over the place, until deciding about 3 years ago that I was “getting too old for this #$@&.” In 2002 I became the next Pryor to succumb to the draw (or curse) of radio and went to work for 590 KLBJ Radio in Austin. I do a show at 10 AM; Monday through Friday with a very funny guy named Todd Jeffries called the “Todd and Don show”. I do a daily commentary and traffic as well. It is more fun than you can imagine and I am very lucky to do what I do! Basically, I have so far somehow avoided having a “real job” since we graduated in 79.
I still live in beautiful Austin,Texas with my wife of 15 years, Kim. I have no idea why she agreed to marry me, because to say that I married up would be a huge understatement. I guess the fact that I have her convinced that I am a successful oil and gas attorney didn’t hurt. So please, if you see us the reunion, please play along and refer to me as “Counselor”.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
