Today's Featured Biography
Tina Jones Hill
Hello Class of "87"!! I thought I would take a minute and let you know what has been going on in my life since our last reunion.
In September 1999, I married Shane Hill, my gift from God! Shane, Alex (my oldest son), and I moved to Sikeston, Mo. where Shane was transferred to help open their new Wal-Mart Super Center. I taught 3rd grade. We were there for a year and 1/2. We found out I was pregnant, and decided to move back home where our families were. In April 2001, we were blessed with a beautiful little girl, Audri Ann. At that time, I was teaching 6th, 7th, and 8th grade Science and 6th grade Language Arts at Sharon School. Shane was transferred to the Wal-Mart Super Center in Murray, KY.
In June 2004, our little miracle, Avery Freeman, arrived into our lives. We had a lot of trouble getting him here, and he was born 5 weeks early. From the beginning, he was very small and always sick. Shane and I decided that it would be best if I resigned from teaching and stayed at home with our two little ones.
After a year and 1/2 of being a stay-at-home Mom, I got "cabin fever". Two sets of our parents were retired and offered to keep the kids, so I could go back to work. In January 2006, I was hired to finish off the year teaching 5th grade at Hillcrest Elem. for a teacher who had retired early. Last Fall, I was hired full-time to teach 1st grade at Lake Road Elem. in Union City. I love my job, and hope to continue teaching until it's time to retire.
Shane is now the Supply Chain Manager of Pella Corporation in Murray, KY. Alex is 14 years old, and will be in the 9th grade at SF High School, and is 6 feet tall. He plays football and baseball. Alex is a high-honor student and is very involved with his youth group at So. Fulton Baptist Church. Audri Ann just turned 6, and will be in 1st grade at SF Elem., and loves taking gymnastics and her cheerleading class (it is in her blood). Avery just turned 3, and he attends the Children's Center at UTM 2 days a week, and has finally accomplished the whole "potty training" thing.
Well, that's about it for me and my "crew"! I can't wait to see everyone in the Fall! God Bless each of you!! Tina
