Today's Featured Biography
Greg Wamack
If you don't remember me graduating with you, then it's because I didn't. I graduated from Hixson High School. However, I went to school at Daisy Elementary, Soddy Daisy Jr. High, and Soddy Daisy High School from K - 9. So, I have a lot friends in your graduating class that I would love to catch up with sometime. Here's a little bit of info about me since 1988.
I graduated from UTC with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1994. I worked as an EMT for Memorial Hospital through my years at UTC. I met my wife while I was there, but then she up and left for Atlanta to attend pharmacy school, so I followed her there. I started working at the Level I Trauma Center Emergency Department at Grady Memorial Hospital and was quickly indoctrinated into the "gun and knife" club. We were married in 1995, and have been happily married ever since. My passion has always been with aviation, though, and after I had enough experience under my belt, I applied for and got a position as a flight nurse first with MedServ Georgia, then with Georgia Baptist LifeFlight. I became a certified flight registered nurse in 1996. I climbed the ranks to become Program Manager, but my heart was always in the back of the helicopter taking care of patients. So, an opportunity came in 2005 for me to take a position with Vanderbilt University LifeFlight, and I have been there ever since. I hope to start working on my masters degree or doctorate degree soon. We now live in Mount Juliet, Tennessee, which is just east of Nashville in Wilson County. I also enjoy teaching, and hold instructor status in BLS (CPR), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum), and TNATC (Transport Nurse Advanced Trauma Course). I am an active member of the Emergency Nurse's Association, the Air and Surface Transport Nurse's Association, and the International Association of Forensic Nurses. I enjoy spending time with my two sons - Will Spencer and Brock Thomas and my wife.
I look forward to catching up with everybody.
