It’s was our 55th Year Reunion, August 11, 2018. A lot has happened to all of us through the years, college, marriage, divorce, babies, job changes, moving, travel, sickness, good health, laughter, sadness and good times!
This was a night to remember the “Way We Were” in 1959 when we started Hillsboro. The 5’O Clock Hop and American Bandstand were on TV. Fraternities and Sororities were rushing, Nic Varallo’s Drive-In was packed every weekend. Dances at the Chicken Coup on Highway 70, Willow Plunge in Franklin and Donelson Teen Town were going strong.
In 1963 we all went our separate ways, some to college, some to war, some to work, some moved away, and some stayed home. In all, what a lifetime of memories… Set your calendar for our 60th in August 2023…hopefully? Bill

Today's Featured Biography
Richard Clark
Richard’s Bio: After HHS attended UT with Bill Morris Randy, Hardy Hudson, Phillip Webster, and Rick Pickering. Drank, gambled, studied little, and flunked out. I then joined the Marine Corp Reserves and spent a
year active and 5 in the reserves, went back to Cumberland College after active duty got married in school and attended MTSU. After MTSU I took the first job I was offered working for an Insurance carrier in Nashville. I left that company and went to work for an Insurance Agency in Memphis for 10 years and had 3 kids along the way one girl and two boys. I moved to Houston in 1985 with family and divorced in 1986. I was a single parent starting a new business with custody of two teenage boys. I was also traveling. I have a lot of interesting stories about those days but let’s just say that hiring a 19 year old German AuPair named Trixie to take care of two teenage boys may not have been my brightest move. I am still hearing stories about those days and cringing. I then continued with my brilliant decision making and remarried in 1988 which solved my child care issues but created a few new ones. I divorced a few years later but fortunately by then the youngest was in college and the oldest son was on his own and well into his music career. My daughter married and moved to
Ohio. Go figure. By this time I had decided to remain single and celibate for the rest of my life since that seemed to be the source of many of my problems but of course that did not last either. I remarried for the LAST time in 1998 to Paige who was a Flight attendant for Continental. We met on the plane while she was working and I was waiting on the bathroom. No rude remarks please. She is 16 years younger but so far so good. As previously mentioned I had started an insurance brokerage firm with some other people in Houston in 1988 which we grew into a nice enterprise. We sold to a national firm Arthur J Gallagher in 2001 and I went to work for them. I started their Hospitality Practice and provide insurance and Risk Management to Hotels Timeshares Resorts Golf Courses etc nationally and internationally. I travel around 60% of the time and have a group of 20 people in Houston who work with me. In 2001 Shelby Clark was born and has had me totally wrapped around her finger since the day she came on to the scene. She is now 12 and it is amazing how fast they grow up when you are 71 instead of 22 and 32. My daughter Wendy in Ohio has 3 children the oldest is 26. She and her Ex husband graduated from Belmont. Having a 16 year old daughter has been great and now looking forward to paying for another college experience.
Trey's Ex wife is a lawyer for Shell (not named Trixie) and they have three children. My
other son Chase works for an insurance company in Houston and places their reinsurance. He and his wife live in Houston and have three children. It has been a great journey since HHS and certainly not the way I thought it would go but I feel pretty damn fortunate to be in the place I am, good health, great family who didn't wind up in jail due to lack of parenting skills on their parents part, and I have no plans to retire. My mother just passed away in December 2013 at 98 so maybe we will see you all at the 75th reunion. "Some of it's magic some of it's tragic but I had a good life all the way" Buffet (Jimmy not Warren).Still no plans to retire but smelling the roses more. hope they are not the funeral ones.20th wedding anniversary this year so I think we'll make it and my youngest will be a Senior in HS. Able to play tennis 3 to 4 times a week still work by butt off and travel quite a bit. Life is good today
Looking forward the the 55th

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
