It’s was our 55th Year Reunion, August 11, 2018. A lot has happened to all of us through the years, college, marriage, divorce, babies, job changes, moving, travel, sickness, good health, laughter, sadness and good times!
This was a night to remember the “Way We Were” in 1959 when we started Hillsboro. The 5’O Clock Hop and American Bandstand were on TV. Fraternities and Sororities were rushing, Nic Varallo’s Drive-In was packed every weekend. Dances at the Chicken Coup on Highway 70, Willow Plunge in Franklin and Donelson Teen Town were going strong.
In 1963 we all went our separate ways, some to college, some to war, some to work, some moved away, and some stayed home. In all, what a lifetime of memories… Set your calendar for our 60th in August 2023…hopefully? Bill

Rochelle Komisar Highes
Chelle Reports: My beautiful Mother remarried in the fall of 1959 after the death of my Father. We left Nashville in the summer of 1960 to live in Dallas, Texas where I attended Sunset High. In February of 1961, we moved to Austin, Texas and I attended McCallum High and then in the fall of 1962, we were again transferred to Little Rock, AK. I graduated from Little Rock Central High School. In the fall of 1963, I attended the U. of Texas in Austin but transferred to the U. of Delaware in Newark, Delaware in the fall of 1963 as we had transferred to Wilmington, DE and the house in Austin sold so out of state tuition was prohibitive then. After several years in Delaware, we transferred to New Orleans, La at which time I returned to Nashville to work at Vanderbilt Research Clinic from the summer of 1969 to Dec. of 1972 at which time I moved to Atlanta, GA to live and work until January of 1975. I transferred with an accounting firm back to Dallas, TX. It was the fall of 1983 that I met my husband, Robert James Hughes (from Colorado). We married in Austin, TX on October 14, 1984. My husband has his own oil and gas accounting consulting business and I am ramroding the "ranchette" north of New Caney, TX. which is 36 miles northeast of Houston. We took a transfer to Houston
in Dec .1991 as the oil and gas biz beckoned my husband. I have a dormant TX Real Estate License which at one time was very active in the commercial property realm in the Dallas Market. I have 2 very mature step children, a daughter married many years with 2 grown grandkids ages 26 and 23 and a son who is trying to figure things out still. I have kept in touch with a few folks from the Walter Stokes grammar school days but
would love to hear from whomever. Hiya to Mike M, Anne Simpkins, TommyW. and anyone else who might remember me. Enjoy this grand reunion one and all. You might want to ad that I am a graduate of Our Lady of the Lake University-Houston branch-Liberal Studies with a major in Art. You must say hello from me to all the folks who attended Walter Stokes grammar school. Looking forward to hearing about this reunion
