Today's Featured Biography
Charles Rowe
I spent a year dorking around at Austin Peay working on an industrial design degree, but just didn't have the mind set in place for school. So I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in the fall of 1971 with basic training in San Antonio and advanced training in Biloxi, MS where I met my first wife. Spent the next three and a half years in a really sweet duty assignment in Japan. Returning for a 6 month assignment being discharged in 1976 while stationed at Robins AFB, GA.
Moved to Oklahoma City where I worked in the telecommunications industry and started working on a BS in Electrical Technology at Oklahoma State University. Ended up losing my job there, going through a divorce and rehiring with the same company again later in Houston, TX. I met my future wife over the phone when I had to work with the techs in Tulsa. We both moved to the West Coast, where finally met face to face and got married.
Moved from the S.F. area to Amarillo to start a new career as a tailor of men's suits. That only worked for about 6 months when my wife found out about an opening with IBM locally. That has been my career since March 10, 1980. IBM's moniker in the company is I've Been Moved. That being said, my career has put me in Amarillo, Fritch, TX, Austin, TX and finally in the Atlanta, GA area.
IBM has also sent me on short assignments to Belgium, France, Korea, mainland China, Singapore and India.
Retired from IBM on December 31, 2021 after 41+ years. BOY AM I GLAD THAT'S OVER WITH!!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
