Today's Featured Biography
I received my A.B. and Ph. D, from Brown, and studied for 2 years in France. I am president of the Global Institute for Maximizing Potential, Inc. whose mission is to help students of all abilities, especially the disadvantaged, achieve their full potential. Our services in over 50 school districts have significantly improved student achievement. I have been consultant to state and national departments of education, local districts in more than thirty states, 6 nations (including Mexico, Germany, Hungary, Canada, and Jordan), the US Supreme Court and the US Information Agency. My research and 50+ publications focus on identifying and serving minority and economically disadvantaged students with gifted potential, including The National Report on Identification of Gifted Students, for USDOE. I presented my research in conferences around the US, at the World Council for Gifted Children, the European Conference for Children of High Ability, and the Arabic Council for Gifted Children. I served on the editorial boards of Gifted Child Quarterly; The Roeper Review; Journal for the Education of the Gifted, and Gifted Children Monthly and was elected to the Board of The National Association for Gifted Children. My husband I divide our time working between our homes in NJ and the Bahamas.
