Today's Featured Biography
I just finished serving as the chairman for the 45th reunion at HOPE High School which was held at the Ramada Inn, in nearby Seekonk, Massachusetts, on October 19-20, 2007. I am a retired high school teacher from Pawtucket, Rhode Island. I taught for thirty years at Jenks Jr. High School, Shea High (Pawtucket West), and Tolman High School. While teaching, I served as the theater director at all three schools. I have directed various musicals at these schools, including "Phantom of the Opera." "Bye, Bye, Birdie," "Annie," "Sound of Music," "Hair," and "Godspell." Some of these plays were repeated at each school over the years. I also served as the yearbook advisor at both Jenks and Tolman for many years. Right now, I tutor sick students who cannot attend classes due to their illnesses. I enjoy this work and hope to continue it as long as my health holds out. I have followed my Providence College Basketball team around the country for years. I have been to every NIT and NCAA game they have ever played. Since 1968, I have attended every Olympics which has been held. I am an avid pin collector who collects Olympic and other sports pins. I have voluntered with Little League for over 40 years. I am a District Administrator for Little League who helps to run the local leagues for Williamsport in Rhode Island. Since 1979, I have attended every Little League World Series in Williamsport. I am an avid pin collector for Little League pins. I have over 100,000 pins which I trade with others who share the same hobby. I just returned from Houston, Texas, where I attended the International Congress which makes laws which govern Little League for the next three years. The week before the reunion, I attended the Little League conference in Silverdale, Washington.
