Today's Featured Biography
Jaine Rodack
After high school I went on to get a degree from Emerson College in Boston, MA. In the years that have followed I have written radio station IDs, singing commercials,'spots' and all manner of corporate communications (speeches, videos, brochures, etc.) as well as industrial shows for companies like FedEx, Hilton, Holiday Inn, Philips Electronics, Sanyo and ServiceMaster.
Over the years I've also dabbled in a number of other areas, writing lyrics for several albums, articles for a variety of magazines, and books, including a cookbook (Forgotten Recipes), a biography (Be of Good Cheer),a coffee table book (The Peabody: A History of the South's Grand Hotel) and a food-history book (As Cool As a Cucumber).
I have also worked as an on-air radio personality, first as a DJ on Sam Phillip's "all-girl" station, WHER, and later, as a radio talk show host for several different stations. Some thirty years after working at WHER, the station and its on-air staff were featured in a series of specials on NPR, along with an accompanying exhibit in the Museum of Television and Radio in New York - a lovely surprise.
Throughout my career I have also worked as a voiceover talent, voicing commercials, videos, shows and phone trees for everything from Medicare to FedEx. You can check out a sampling of my voiceover work at studiocenter.com.
On a more personal note, I've lived in Memphis for more than forty years. It is a lovely town, filled with warm people, fun things to see and do, and happy memories.
I am single, having lost my long-time life partner - Pete Pedersen - in 2002. Pete was an internationally respected jazz musician, and incredible human being. Those of you who come to Memphis can see his brass note on Beale Street's Walk of Fame, or learn more about him and his amazing music at petepedersen.com.
Into movies? I hope you'll check out my blog at picsandpans2.blogspot.com, where I share my thoughts on some of the better and often little-known films available on DVD, as well as the occasional food find. It's just somsething I write for the fun of it. See you there!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
