Today's Featured Biography
Hazel Coradi Rattigan
I absolutely cannot believe it has been 48 years since all of us 69ers have walked the halls of East Brady High School. Time does fly. Well, here is a little info regarding my 66 years on this earth.
After high school, I worked for American Hardware/Servistar for 12 years. During that time I married in 1971 and had 2 children. Nicole(1973)and Adam (1975). Nicole has 2 daughters, Kayla (20)and Sara (18). She also has a step-daughter, Brianna (25) who is married to Seth Walker and they have 2 sweet little girls Kinsley and Briley. Niki lives in Butler with her husband Todd and the girls. Adam has a son, Hunter and he lives in Chandler,AZ with his second wife Jennifer and her two sons, Brody and Trent. (Hunter too)
I remarried in 1981 to Bob my husband of 37 years. We have 2 children. Courtnay (1982) who was born on our first wedding anniversary, Jan 23rd. She is married to Scott and they have a son, Max who was born Feb 11 2009 and they had a beautiful little girl May 22, 2014 named Adele. Scott also has a daughter Lily and son Gabe. They are living in Lutherville, MD at this time. Then there is my baby Beau Benjamin(1984) He lives in the North Allegheny area and works for Allegheny Health Network and is still single.
I took 10 years off to raise my children. I have worked at many jobs with my most recent one at USIS in Boyers. I worked there 6 years and stopped working after Beau graduated from college in Dec of 2006. It was crazy there especially after 9/11. We did all the background investigations for all the armed forces and all the people in the White House.
Since I have left the work force, I stay home and care for my Mini Schnauzer, Chloe. I also volunteer at my church as a minister of the Holy Eucharist. We make a couple of trips to AZ each year if we are lucky and of course travel to MD alot.
One of my favorite times was Courtnays HS basketball teams' run for the state championship in 2000 and winning it. Oh what a ride that was. Courtnay was MVP of the state game and Butler and Armstrong Countys Player of the year. We had so much fun with that. In 2011 she was inducted,as an individual,into the Butler County Sports Hall of fame. Also her whole team was inducted at that time also.
My Husband Bob retired from AK Steel June of 2016 and we have just been enjoying retirement. We ride our bikes on the rails to trails and is a great past time.
