Today's Featured Biography
Kevin Boozel
My life on paper is pretty ordinary, but my life at home is extraordinary!
My two son's, Zachory and Colton, are the joy and absolutely the most wonderful part of my life. I am married for 20+ years to a wonderful young lady from Seneca Valley, Renee. We both work full-time and provide well enough for our family. We live on a small 6 acre property with Frankie the dog, Velcro the cat, Charlie the bird and several fish. We all enjoy ATV, dirt bikes, jet ski's and camping. I am interested in pursuing a political career in the near future and expect to enter a race in the next two years.
I am currently employed by PA 2-1-1 Southwest / United Way of Allegheny County since July 2012 (1 year 1 month)
I serve as an 11 County Regional Project Manager for Southwest PA 2-1-1. PA 2-1-1 is a FREE, accessible, 3-digit telephone number available to everyone. All residents have easy access to customized health, housing and human services information in one place. PA 2-1-1 Southwest is a resource and information hub that connects people with community, health and disaster services through a free, 24/7 confidential phone service and searchable online database. Assistance is confidential.
Similar to 9-1-1, 2-1-1 is a nationally recognized, easy to remember phone number that quickly and effectively connects people in need with resources. Every hour of every day, someone in Southwestern Pennsylvania searches for services, from substance abuse treatment to care for a child or an aging parent. By simply dialing 2-1-1 (or 412-255-1155 in some areas) our trained information specialists can help by answering your questions and connecting you to any of over 5,000 health and human service programs.
I also serve my community as Lieutenant/Vice President of the Harrisville Volunteer Fire Company since May 2008 (5 years 3 months) as a Certified PA Firefighter 1; Certified PA EMT; Critical Incident Stress Management Professional - CISM; Volunteer Organizations Active in Disaster - VOAD and as the Emergency Management Coordinator for Mercer Township and Harrisville Boro.
I currently serve on committees such as: Butler Emergency Relief Initiative - BERI, Butler Fire Families - BFF, Butler County Community Action Advisor, Butler County Children's Center, and more.
I previously served as the Resident Initiatives and Special Projects Director for the Housing Authority of the County of Butler
January 2006 ¡V July 2012 (6 years 7 months)
ľand Directed a large-scale, community based resident relations program, Liaison between public and private community organizations, coordinate long range planning for urban developments, facilitated the daily operations of transitional homeless and housing, residential and community programs and overseen construction progress of additional program structures.
Just prior I served as the Executive Director of Butler County Catholic Charities
for Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Pittsburgh from January 2003 - January 2006 (3 years 1 month)
My continuous education includes:
Education

Associate's Degree in Elementary Education

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
