Today's Featured Biography
Michael Allred
After graduation, Jeff Brown and I were shipped off to Ft. Benning, Georgia, where we completed basic training and jump school. After that, we were hustled to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina where spent the next four years jumping out of airplanes, sneaking around in the woods at night, shooting guns, digging fox holes, marching, saluting, shining our boots, and saying yes sir and no sir.
While serving in the 82nd Airborne Division, I traveled to Spain, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Italy, and Panama. The best thing about this was I didn't pay a dime to go to any of these places; the worst thing was that I had to carry an eighty pound ruck sack on my back the entire time I was there.
After getting the hell out of Ft, Bragg, I came home and several years later, graduated from Widener University with Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I then spent about five years or so working as a Juvenile Probation Officer for the County of Delaware.
(For those that are still reading this):
This is where I met Jennifer, my fiance and the mother of our daughter. We have been together for over five years. Our daughter just turned one year old in January. I also have a son who will be fifteen years old in September.
Anywho, I eventually left the County of Delaware and took a position with the Federal Government at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). I have been at the VA for over three years. The only regret that I have about changing careers is not doing it sooner.
Since getting out of the Army, I have happened across a few 89' graduates, but only a couple here and there. It's nice to see and hear that so many of our 89' graduates are doing well. I wish the entire class of 89' and their families continued happiness and success.
Hopefully those of us who have been out of the loop for a while can get reacquainted with each other at the reunion. Until then, take care.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
