Today's Featured Biography
Scott Wesner
After those 4 crazy year of high school at Freedom they were absoulutely the best times of my life. From the parties with Hensel, Stu, Chris and the others on the team to actually joining the band in a dare and going to Florida and California to the Rose Bowl Parade was a highlight of my high school days.
After graduating Freedom I went on to good ole NCC for 2 years, with plans on going to Penn State. I majored in business management and psycology while there. Those plans got quickly diverted when I had the opportunity to open a Sports apparell business. In December of 1990, my father and I opened up Sports Focus which was in the Bethlehem Squrae Shopping Center. In those 5 years it was a great learning step and a very rewarding. While at Sports Focus I attended Sports apparel shows all over the country like Vegas, Atl, Miami among others. While in Vegas I met up with Jerry Buss who owned the Lakers and wanted me as one of their salesmen in the East Coast.
After doing that for 2 grueling years on the road from NYC down to Charlotee and points in between I packed that up and opened my 2 nd business in 1997. I always wanted to cook and I took courses in college and everyone said I was good at it. A friend of mine had his own restaurant and let me work there for a while and train. After some training I figured "what the hell". So I went into Italian Restaurant business from 1998 - 2001 called Gate 7 Ristoratnte. That was awesome, stressful and very lucrative. Talk about being in the middle of the Sopranos. Let's just say I say ALOT I would not have seen if I just worked there.
On Thanksgiving Eve 2004 I was in a serious car accident that almost killed me instantly. I had a seizure while coming hime from a girlfriends house. I have had epilepsy since HS. I am very lucky to be alive today and be here to write about it. I broke 19 bones that night, had a bruised heart, collapsed lungs, was on life support and actually flatlined twice in 2 seperate surgeries. I was NOT going to die that not or at all without one thing. That was seeing my son and being able watch him grow up!! Luckily I am her to write about, still coach my sons t-ball team and do many other things, but all from my wheelchair. Yeah that's right, I am paralyzed from the belly buttom down but I live life to the fullest. Day by day....TRUST ME, YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN YOU ARE GOING TO GO!!! I am proven fact of that
