Today's Featured Biography
Delinah Barry Soon
After High School I attended U of O. I Spent a lot of time in the music building though I ended up not majoring in it. After graduating in 2000, my husband and I married. We stayed in Eugene one more year before relocating to Portland so I could manage my father-in-laws restaurant. A little while later our son Isaac was born. After trying to run the restaurant by night and be a mom in the day I decided that Isaac was my first priority and I left the restaurant.
A little while later I worked for Tuesday Morning as an assistant manager, but after about the 10th burglar alarm went off and I had to meet the police early in the morning with my son because my husband had already left for work I decided that that was the end of that. Finally I was hired at Lewis and Clark (in the library) and was intent on staying there for a while, but that didn't last long.
I finished my first masters degree in Business Administration in July of '05.Then I decided it was time again for a change. After vacating my position at Lewis and Clark in September I have enjoyed some much needed time off. In January our Daughter Braylin was born, and my days are now filled with playing Ninja Turtles with our son and laying on the floor with our daughter talking about the day.
My husband currently is the Band/ Choir director at Illinois Valley. Part of the time the kids and I are down there with him and the rest of the time we are home in Portland. After living in our home for 3 years we purchased it this last September and are now working on remolding the kitchen. It should be finished soon and I am very excited to cook a meal in it. I will complete my second masters in Health Care Administration in June and hope to find a place near our home where I can work two days a week, because my current priority is our children.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone this summer and to hear about where life has taken you. Best wishes, Delinah
