Today's Featured Biography
Robert Brown
After graduating from GPHS, I went to Southern Oregon College in Ashland, where I met my wife, Becky. We celebrated our 45th anniversary in May 2023 (our wedding was on 5-6-78).
After graduating from college, we moved to Portland and I started my career with the Big 8 accounting firm Arthur Andersen. I had executive financial and administrative management positions with several leading Oregon companies, including Acres Gaming, which took us to Corvallis in 1993, and I retired from Selmet in 2018.
We have two wonderful kids. Lee is a graduate of OSU, and works for NessCampbell Crane + Rigging. He is married to Anna and has our two wonderful grandchildren, Malin and Colter. Hayley is a graduate of UofO, and works for Nike. Both are in the Portland area, so when Becky retired in 2022 we moved back to the city after 29 years in Corvallis.
Hobbies and interests revolve around family activities, including golf, boating, and home improvement projects. I have almost finished building a 23-foot mahogany runabout. This project started in 2010 and its far enough along that we had many great cruises on the Willamette and Columbia rivers after we moved to Oregon City.
Looking forward to catching up with Caveman friends in GP!
