Today's Featured Biography
Cheryl Young Allen
It took me a few years, but after graduation I did finally get my act together! I met my Doug in December of 1989, I had Tyler in January of 1990 and then we got married in May, 1991. We have 4 boys between us. Dustin is from Doug's 1st marriage and the other 3 are our's. We have lived in Yukon for the last 10+ years. We bought a new housejust a little North of Yukon, but still in the Yukon School District. We wanted to get away from living in town.
I worked in the legal field from legal secretary to legal assistant until 1999. After much prayer, I quit work to become a fulltime Mom! I absolutely love it -- I truly am blessed! I often wonder how I ever found the time to work in the first place. I now am very active in the school system on a volunteer basis. As long as Tyler Allen doesn't see me in the hallways of the school, he's perfectly fine with me being around. ha ha!! I substitute teach some and am Treasurer of the Tip-In Club (a booster club for the basketball program). Doug and I also run the boy's basketball program for the City of Yukon, for ages 4-15.
Tyler will be a Junior in High School, Connor will be an 8th grader and my baby will start 1st grade. Not exactly sure what I'm going to do with myself this coming school year. I may just have to adopt a small child! We have 2 grandsons, Davin (6 years) and Cooper (4 months). They live in Yukon, not too far from us, so I get to see them quite a bit. Davin and our youngest are great buddies!
We enjoy going to the lake. My 16 year old enjoys wakeboarding, the 13 and 6 year olds likes the kneeboard. Hey, even our Cairn Terrier, Teddy, gets on the kneeboard. Okay, we enjoy it more for him than he actually does! I also enjoy gardening, decorating and a little scrapbooking.
