TO: Cache High School Graduation Class of 1961 & Friends

On June 25, 2011, we are planning a gathering to celebrate 50 years since our high school graduation. The Cache Alumni Association meets yearly the last weekend of June at Cache Schools. Our gathering coincides with that meeting.
There have been so many changes since we graduated. The old buildings we attended school in are gone, making way for a lot of progress. For those of you who haven’t been to Cache in many years all of the school is located on the south side of the highway, except for an athletic center that is large enough to host district basketball games. (The old stone wall is still there). A new football field is being constructed with a top notch track. Cache residents have been wonderfully responsive to passing school bonds and Cache schools just keep building and attracting more students. The graduating class numbered over 125 last year and each grade has over 100 students in them now. Compared to our class size you can see the growth in this area.
For our reunion, we plan to meet in Cache at the Primary Building at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday June 25th. That will give us some time to visit with one another and also the opportunity to visit with other people that attend the alumni association meetings. Stay as long as you like there.
Then at 5:00 pm we are meeting at The Wichita Baptist Church Fellowship Hall in Cache for a BBQ dinner. The cost is $12.00 apiece for dinner. It is located at 6th & Ash. From the school complex, travel north on 5th street, past the railroad tracks to Ash. Turn left or West 1 block to 6th street and you will have arrived. Bring any old pictures you want to share with the group. We hope to have a large group attend and look forward to seeing you all.
If you plan to attend the BBQ dinner, please return this form to: C. Hawthorne, PO Box 1126, Cache, OK 73527 with your reservation and check for dinner by June 8th. Thanks and look forward to seeing everyone again!

The Cache Public Schools Annual Reunion for all classes was held at the Primary Auditorium on school grounds on June 25, 2011. Our Class of 1961 was recognized for our 50 year celebration.

Today's Featured Biography
Carolyn Holden Hawthorne
Attended Eastern OK A&M & then Don & I married in 1962. After his graduation from OSU in 1965, he worked for the government and his job took us to Utah, Washington DC, Georgia, back to Utah, New Mexico, Texas, Colorado, back to DC and then home to OK for retirement. I worked in various offices until we started our family.
We have 3 wonderful daughters, Dana, Sheri & Susanne and 5 grandchildren, Hollie, Tyler, Darby, Carter & Tatum.
Dana is a Physician's Assistant in Austin, Texas. She assists in surgery, mostly scoliosis cases. Sheri is an Epidemiologist and works for the State of Kansas. Susanne lives in San Antonio and is a homemaker steering her 3 young ones and helping steer her husbands 3. Very active household!
Moving so much, I stayed home with our girls until the youngest was in 7th grade and I began working. Enjoyed joining the work force at that time. Worked for the NW school district in San Antonio for a time, then joined Continental Airlines and the last position I held was with the government in Washington DC. Retired in 1996.
Enjoy travel, piano, computer and picnics in the Wichita's.
