Today's Featured Biography
Dan Pecchio
I have two sons Ted 39 from my first marriage and Danny,16 from my wife of 20 years Kim. I have lived in Chagrin Falls Since 1975. After graduating I attended Youngstown University majoring in Secondary and Elementary Education. I left college after my third year to pursue a career in music.
I began playing Bass Guitar after a chance meeting at Freshman Orientation with fellow graduate John Presten. Two years and a couple of local bands later another fellow Chaney graduate and good friend Dick Strojny and I formed a band the Poppy. Two years later I joined Phill Keaggy and John Sferra in Glass Harp. We recorded 3 albums for Decca Records and played across the country including Carnegie Hall, Filmore East and Winterland with many national acts. In 1975 I was a founding member in the Michael Stanley Band in Cleveland. We recorded 4 albums, three for producer Bill Symzyck on Epic Records and one for Mutt Lang on Arista Records. MSB toured around the country with many national acts and holds the attendance record at Blossom Music Center for four consecutive days of sold out shows totaling over 64,000 tickets.
I left the Michael Stanley Band in 1980 to pursue race car driving both as a driver and a team owner. I eventually drove Formula Super Vee class race cars, that resembled Indy Cars, and manufactured the only American built and designed Formula Super Vee car for that series.
I returned to music in 1985 to form a Cleveland Motown band The Motion for several years. The Motion appeared in the Michael J. Fox movie The Light of Day.
Glass Harp played several reunions during the 80's and 90's including a sold out performance at Akron Civic Theater. The Glass Harp Live at Carnegie Hall CD, recorded in 1972, was released and debuted at the Rock and Roll Hal of Fame in 1997. In 2000 Glass Harp united to play in Youngstown for the first time since 1973 with a sold out performance with the Youngstown Symphony. The concert was recorded and released as a live double CD, Strings Attached. In 2003 Glass Harp recorded Hourglass the first studio recording since 1973 followed by a 3 CD set compilation of live Jams. Most recently Glass Harp released the first live simulcast from WMMS Radio and WVIZ Television recorded in 1972 as a DVD. I am currently working on my first solo CD that will cover a variety of R&B songs.
My son Ted is a musician most recently playing with Grammy winner Susan Tedeschi live and on her latest release Back to the River. He has also appears on Derek Trucks last CD and has recorded with Doyle Bramhall Jr.
My Son Danny is a junior at Chagrin Falls High School. He is a member of the Debate Team and Student Congress and Fencing Team. This past Summer he interned at The Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Cancer Institute researching Prostate Cancer.
We involve our selves with many local civic and charity events and are active at St, Joan of Arc Church. Kim is on parish counsel and teaches 2nd grade PSR. I teach eighth grade PSR and Kim and I are Eucharistic Ministers. Danny is an Alter Server.
We all enjoy each other, Fencing, playing with the 1980 Fiat Spyder, and Titus our 80 pound Standard Poodle.
I don't see myself ever retiring and hope my sons will give me a grandchild before I am so old that the grandchild and I will both be eating apple sauce and wearing diapers.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone.

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
