Today's Featured Biography
Sharon Young Jebavy
Born in Grant Hospital on June 3, 1945, almost 3 months before the end of WWII, when the war ended we went back to Dad’s family’s KY farm.. When I was 4.5 we moved back to Columbus. I attended Hubbard Ave Elem, Everett Jr High and graduated 17th out of 357 in our Central High School class of 1963.
I sang high soprano in a women’s quintet at church for 7 years. We sang anywhere we were invited!
I worked as a bank bookkeeper at City National Bank and it was where I was when a bank messenger told us Pres. Kennedy had been shot.
I worked as a secretary for Jeffrey Mfg Co. for several years. Then I met Mr. Talk, Dark and Handsome at 6’2”. (All my Jebavy men are over 6’.)
I met Michael Jebavy at my church on March 2, 1969 and we saw each other every day except 2 and we married 29 days later on March 31, 1969! We were soul mates!
He was a year older than I was, was a Navy vet, owned a house and was a Stationary Engineer. He had just bought a Mustang Mach I. He let me drive it 20’ one time!
We had two boys: Jonathan Michael in 1972 and Michael Andrew in 1979. We lost Andy in 2003 of a blood clot when he was 24. He left a wife and 6 month old son, Michael Alexander. Jon and my wonderful daughter-in-law Stefani raised Alex who was 20 in 2022.
Michael had a massive heart attack in 1987 and I asked God to give us 20 years, which He graciously did. Mike had 4 open heart surgeries and was Cleveland Clinic’s heart transplant 954. Mike died in 2007.
It was Mike’s idea for me to become a Realtor after he had the heart attack. I became a Realtor in February 1989, working for HER Realtors. I then went back to school and earned an associate degree in real estate from Hondros College, earned my Broker’s license and opened my own company, HomeWise Real Estate LLC in 1996. I was the first in Ohio to specialize in flat fee listing which saves my sellers half the traditional commission. It has been wildly successful. I was featured as the main story on the front page of the Wall Street Journal on October 12, 2006. I list all over Ohio!
My biggest pastime is genealogy! Dad always told us our name wasn’t really Young, that it had been changed because of trouble so far back in time they had lost it. I learned the whole story! On my birthday, 299 years before I was born June 3, 1646, Clan Lamont was massacred by Clan Campbell! This caused the name change to hide from the Campbells.
I occasionally talk to Karen Mills Demorest who lives in TN and I was Maid of Honor for the wedding of Judy Akerbloom and Tony Postal but we lost touch in later years.
I gave my life to Jesus when I was 13 at my grandmother’s knees and God has been so good to me and to my family. I can’t see ever retiring. I love what I do and I can work from anywhere as my business is internet based: www.homewisemls.com
We are planning to move to NC as Jon is involved in a ministry there. He is the best Bible teacher I have ever heard. I hope you have all had wonderful lives! Email me: [email protected]
I would LOVE to hear from anyone and everyone! Blessings!

"Just discovered your product today while trying to locate classmates ahead of our 50th reunion in 2020. The fact that you did this in a noncommercial manner in a world where everything has a price tag deserves recognition and respect, in my view.
Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
