Theresa Hughes Denton

The day after CHS graduation I moved to Nashville, Tennessee, where the rest of my family had moved and where my Dad was attending graduate school at Vanderbilt University. Have been living in Nashville since then. I graduated from Middle Tennessee University (B.S. 1973), Nashville School of Law (J.D. 1978) and Vanderbilt University (M.B.A. 1989) I have worked as an attorney for the State of Tennessee in various departments, currently for the Department of Agriculture.
John and I married in 1981 and live in a rural area outside Nashville. John has retired from Ford Motor Company and is now able to spend more time in his art studio. We have been very blessed with three awesome children. Zach is in a Ph.D. program in math at the Univ. of Louisiana (my Dad says that the math genes skipped a generation!); Emily is in graduate school at Vanderbilt Divinity School; and Ross is a Freshman at Watkins School of Art and Design in Nashville. All three children graduated from Nashville High School of the Arts, a public high school in Nashville for performing and visual arts. I am so glad that they were able to attend a small high school with a close knit group of friends, as I did. JoAnn Scalf and I still see each other frequently and our families have kept in touch.
John and I are active in our Presbyterian Church, where I serve as Elder.
My parents and sisters and their families all live in or around Nashville, but Sandy has recently relocated to Knoxville, TN. Looking forward to seeing everyone as it's been years since I've visited the area.
