Michael Mellon

After graduating high school I went away to college and attended the university of Findlay on a soccer scholarship. I was there for a year and in that time period I never touched a soccer ball and was rarely ever seen on the U of F campus. I can tell you this though; I spent the majority of that year with some of my best friends (still to this day) who graduated with us from Bay. As most of you probably remember, school and authority were never really my thing.
    
After coming home to Cleveland, I tried CSU for a year and then fell in with some very interesting people that introduced me to Cleveland’s nightlife scene. These are the type of people that made the rules and set the standards for others to follow. I got really into house music and the world class DJS that made and played it. Shortly after that, I started my company, Tru Productions and I began bringing these DJS through Cleveland and producing events in which these DJS would play to sold out crowds of 1000 to 5000 plus people. I had made my mark as a solid promoter and event producer. I became the guy that The Plain Dealer and Cleveland Magazine covered for “Taking the Cleveland nightlife scene to another level”. Now superstar DJ acts like Paul Oakenfold, Tiesto, Paul Van Dyk and Armin Van Buuren were playing Cleveland on a regular basis and for me, a twenty-year-old graduate of Bay High.

In 2001, a few others and myself came together and developed a concept where we were able to utilize my connections and my trade of producing large-scale events and their know how of opening and operating nightclubs. In 2002 we opened Moda Nightclub, which got rated one of the top nightclubs in the United States that year. It was at Moda, where for the next four years we educated Ohio and beyond to what a real nightlife experience was all about. Every week we produced either an international DJ concert or a large scale Hip-Hop show along with numerous celebrity parties. I was a partner in the hottest Cleveland nightclub and producing events that rivaled what one may experience in Las Vegas or Miami.

We closed the doors to Moda in 2006. I then took the event production to another level and I currently produce the largest and most high profile DJ and hip-hop concerts and tours in five major U.S. markets. I also represent and develop new talent for numerous record labels. Please take a look at my myspace page listed in my bio if this interests you. We are currently re-launching my website, I felt that it needed a makeover. I listed my new website in my profile, although it is not fully functional yet. Feel free to check that out as well. The updates should be complete and ready to go live by March 2008.

I really look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion! After perusing through numerous bios, I am glad to see everyone doing so well! Congratulations to two of the most amazing people that we all graduated with, and two of my very best friends for life: Bobby Greene and Meredith Gribble who are now married and known as “The Greene’s”. The game has begun Bobby, what’s your move brotha? YEEEEEEEEEAH!
