Today's Featured Biography
Craig Prusansky
I went to Northeastern University for Biomedical Engineering from 1986-1987. What was I thinking???? I returned home to persue a career in Emergency Medical Services. I became an EMT, then a Paramedic, working for several ambulance services in both Westchester and Dutchess counties.
In 1990 I received my big break. After passing the Florida paramedic exam, I was hired by Palm Springs Public Safety Dept. as a Firefighter/Paramedic. They put me through fire school, and I worked there for a year. Since there was little room for advancement, as well as hardly any action, I left there and was hired by Palm Beach County Fire-Rescue, where I am still employed. In 1998 I was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant, and in November of 2007 I was promoted to Captain. I am assigned as an EMS Supervisor, overseeing three fire stations and about 18 paramedics, covering about 1200 square miles. I love it and couldn't see myself doing anything else.
I am also employed part-time by the Universal Orlando Resort (Universal Studios/Islands of Adventure/CityWalk) as a paramedic. Another job that I love!
I was married in 1999 to my wonderful wife. I have two girls, who are very beautiful and quite trying at times ... though they are good kids for the most part.
We live in North Central Florida, up in the rolling hills (yes, Florida has a part with hills) near the horse farms. It is real nice up here, and it seperates me from my work environment, which is pretty much poverty-stricken inner city or sugar cane fields.
If you remember me ... or even if you don't, drop me a line to say hi.
Craig Prusansky ('86)

Thank you and good luck in all your endeavors."
